Ensuring you’re treating someone with dignity, easy right?

Not so much.

Simple maybe, easy no. Simple because it just requires active listening, treating without judgement, blame, toxic shame, or criticism.

Everyone is nodding along, yeah! I never do that.

If you’re saying that then it’s almost a guarantee that you treat people in those ways:

She who knows that she does not know is best off.

He who pretends to know but doesn’t is ill.

Only someone who realises he is ill can become whole.

The sage is not ill because she recognises

Connection in a world that fosters disconnection.

Our world is chaotic at the moment. The antidote to this is to connect more deeply with your Self. To know yourself deeper, and to embody your feelings fully.

You won’t get rid of the chaos; it’s the nature of life as much as peace and tranquillity. What you can do is to build a tolerance to disorder; a space to respond; an emotional process that includes and celebrates chaos as part of the experience.

Recently I chose a new partnership. It was so exciting and inspiring; I felt so seen, heard, empowered and inspired by her. I felt so loved.

She chose me back. It was more love than I’ve ever felt before. It’s nice to be loved. It felt good. Then I think I got complacent.

It’s just that she wasn’t ready for a relationship, and I knew that from early on.

The gig culture of music is now expanding across much of Western Society. Performance anxiety is likely expanding across an insecure and highly competitive work environment where we’re probably holding ourselves to perfectionistic standards.

Ignored because the standard narratives of performance include an acceptance of stress and fear. The audience often expects perfection. The magpie has a rich history of symbolism in Northern Europe, China, and North America.

They’re risk-takers; fast, bold. They love treasure and became known for waiting in streams by silver and gold. Going to get what they want, then exiting quickly.

The native Americans attributed the trickster to the magpie, an opportunist.

The Chinese believe it’s an omen of good luck, good fortune, and brings blessings of abundance.

Spotting a magpie can be a sign of change. A sign that a long-lost love is trying to find you.

Often, surviving adverse childhood experiences (ACE) can engrain certain behaviours in your subconscious beliefs.

I am writing this on January seventh 2021. Yesterday’s scenes in Washington sent a shock wave through the whole of the world. The media labelled them a mob, protestors. They didn’t use the word terrorist maybe because they were white-skinned.

A personal story of growth

Elegance is a feeling, a state of the body. Straight back, shoulders slightly back, head held high and a strong core.

It took me a long time to become embodied in elegance. My go-to position was slumped forward, shoulders hunched over. A position of internalized shame, doubt, not being able to find confidence in myself.

I always had a sense of wanting to be smaller than my frame. People expressed their surprise when I straightened once in a while: “Oh, you’re tall!”
