Life is cyclical, concentric circles of growth. The human story contains hardship; the only way is through the pain. We don’t have to go through unassisted, though. We can build a toolkit to navigate life.

When the soul speaks, it wants to expand. When I want to grow, I take on new environments that are full of uncertainty. The ego doesn’t appreciate this uncertainty, and our brains are psychologically weighted to pick out the negatives in any given scenario, for safety.

This idea of concentric circles of growth springs from the sense that we must expand, yet we all have a past, which reoccurs in our behaviour and memory as we walk the path of life. The goal in life might be for the past to reoccur only in memory; to cultivate enough space so that we can choose to respond in any given situation.

In this article, I’d like to expand a little on the two states and how they show up in our lives. The ego and the soul are two essential parts of life. They’re not to for me to feel ashamed of; they’re for me to embrace. Wisdom is integrating knowledge into action, and partnering with all aspects of your Self in consciousness will bring you the fulfilment you seek

Let’s take a look at the difference between ego and soul and how we can find a balance between the two:
